Mount Cook Adventure Centre are incredibly pleased to announce that we have been awarded the AHOEC Gold Standard for our commitment to outdoor learning!
The Association of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres (AHOEC) are champions of high-quality outdoor learning, requiring that all their members to provide inspirational experiences, a lifelong positive impact, and challenging activities to all the groups that come to us. Since being founded in 1963, AHOEC has assessed and represented over 170 outdoor providers, and we are thrilled to join the ranks.
Areas that the AHOEC Gold Standard assesses are our Learning and Development, Customer Care, Safety Management, Facilities, Leadership and Management, Environmental Sustainability, Compliance and Insurance, and our Continuous Improvement.
The AHOEC Gold Standard is a serious undertaking, and perhaps the most comprehensive accreditation available to outdoor providers, so we would like to say THANK YOU and WELL DONE to every single department and member of staff at Mount Cook that contributed to the rigorous self-evaluation and assessment.
We’d also like to say a huge thank you to all the schools, charities, and every single group who has come to us – we have come a long way since opening in July 2016, and we remain committed to providing a fantastic learning experience to everyone who comes through our doors.
